The principal shrine of Shrinathji is situated at the temple of Nathdwara, 48 km northeast of Udaipur. Shrinathji's idol was brought to Rajasthan from Govardhana near Vrindavan to protect it from the hands of the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. It is believed that whosoever comes to Nathdwara with a pure heart and clear conscience, Lord Shrinathji fulfills all his wishes and bestows him with all the happiness and joys.
